What is Aarogya Setu App?

Aarogya setu, a mobile application developed by the ministry of electronics and IT to help citizens identify their risk of contracting Covid-19 (coronavirus) has notched more than 50 million + downloads since its launch on Play Store. 

The App is available in both Play Store (for Android users) and Apple App store (for iOS users) . It is available in 11 different languages that is 10 Indian languages and English.

Aarogya Setu is designed to keep an user informed in cases/ he has crossed paths with someone who was tested positive. 

The tracking is done through a Bluetooth location generated social graph, which can show your interaction with anyone who has tested positive.

After installing the app, you have to switch on Bluetooth (You are recommended to keep it on at all times) and Location. Then, set location sharing to always (you can change this anytime). 

It has a tool for self testing. The user is asked to answer a number of questions. In case some of the answers suggest covid-19  symptoms, the information will be sent to a government server. 

The data will then helped the government take timely steps and initiate the isolation procedure if necessary.

You will be alerted if someone you came in close proximity with unknowingly test positive.

The app alerts are accompanied by instructions on how to self isolate and what to do in case you develop symptoms. 

The data is said only with the government. The app doesn't allow your name and number to be publicly disclosed.

Arogya setu is an app launched by indian gov. which uses your phones bluetooth to find any covid-19 patients near you and tells you whether you are near any containment zone or not if you are travelling to a new area.

The app provides information based on the radius in your area, you can adjust or select the radius as per your needs from 500m to 10km.

 It provides information like Number of Aarogya Setu users near you within a radius of 500m to 10kms who have active on the app.

The app shows the number of users near you who have recently (in the last 24 to 48 hours) completed the self assessment test. On this basis, you will come to know how many users have marked themselves as unwell.

The app Identified as "At-Risk" via Bluetooth Proximity (close-ness) tracing to highlight any possible risks users may have - by coming close (in proximity) to either a confirmed COVID-19 positive patient , or someone who is at a high risk. 

This number indicates all those who have been marked as "At-risk" owing to such close contact - traced through Bluetooth.

It also shows the number of users near you who have been diagnosed as COVID-19 positive based on lab test and confirmation by ICMR.

The app also offers features like Self Assessment Test and a complete list of Covid-19 cases overview, which has a detailed list of coronovirus Confirmed, Recovered and Deceased cases from each state in India.
